Eisegesis (noun) the process of interpreting a text in such a manner that introduces one’s own presuppositions, agendas, or biases into and onto the text, commonly referred to ‘reading into‘ a text. Most often used in relation to Biblical interpretation, eisegesis also has a wider use in literary theory and practice.
